made in carbon
neutral manufacturing facilities in India and printed in Germany, from
'low impact' organic cotton, and is distributed through carbon neutral
warehouses which use only renewable green electricity. Certification
to the new Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS), ensures not only
that the cotton is produced by organic methods, but also that the
entire production process from yarn preparation, dyeing &
finishing, through to the final product, all its component parts and
packaging, meet the high standards of organic environmental protection
and social responsibility. THOKKTHOKK apparel is certified
by
the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, Licence No. 11-20489. The Oeko-Tex 100
Standard is a guarantee of the safety of textiles and dyestuffs to
human health. It also means we take more care in adopting
environmentally friendly production methods throughout the
manufacturing of THOKKTHOKK Apparel. The Oeko-Tex Standard
100
Mark (or Öko-Tex ) is probably the most widely recognised
standard
in textiles, which sets strict restrictions on harmful substances which
can be found in the finished textile product. The mark states
“Confidence in Textiles” is displayed on textile
products
which have been tested by one of the member institutes. Although
Oeko-Tex standards only address specifically consumer’s
health
issues, the necessity to comply with the criteria induces better
environmental practices at the processing and manufacturing level. The
standards offer significant environmental benefits. Therefore, when
choosing a sustainable T-shirt, look for Oeko-Tex certified T-shirts,
made with 100% organic certified cotton. THOKKTHOKK
apparel is
made as ethically as possible. THOKKTHOKK manufacturing facilities
have been audited by the Fair Wear Foundation, certified by GOTS, and
are being licenced by Fairtrade (Max Havelaar). In addition
to the
FLO (Fairtrade Labeling Organisations International) and GOTS (Global
Organic Textile Standard) standards shown above, the production company
is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, have undergone a thorough
independent audit of its operations worldwide as part of its commitment
to promote fair and ethical trade practices not only in relation to the
poorest farmers in the third world, but in all geographical areas of
operation. These standards ensure fair, humane and civilised treatment
of employees and suppliers throughout the supply chain and are designed
as an evolving process focusing on continuous rising of standards
through close monitoring and co-operation.
